Lean – Quick – Low-cost.
Reduced operating costs and increased performance: These were the main goals when developing the new Document Composer in AQDB version 2.2.
Lean. The Document Composer is the central user interface. Here, you can create and interactively edit documents. In addition to a quick document overview on the left of the screen, you also have a clear view of the text modules and input fields available for editing on the right. You can edit text modules directly in a browser-based text module editor where this is permitted. As the new Document Composer is an all-in-one solution, you no longer need to install special AQDB programs or interfaces on your PC workbench if you wish to create documents. The application runs entirely in Microsoft Internet Explorer. This means that you can access AQDB quickly from your PC, without any specific prerequisites.
Quick. As an AQDB user, you can now look forward to faster performance. Using the new Document Composer, documents are automatically generated (or "rendered") from templates and data, in the background on the AQDB server. This not only reduces the burden on your PC, but also produces faster results, significantly improving performance.
Low-cost. The new AQDB Document Composer runs entirely in Microsoft Internet Explorer, eliminating the need to install costly and time-consuming software updates on your PC to create documents. New functions also allow you to download software updates more quickly and easily enabling greater efficiency, and allowing customers to benefit more quickly from the shorter innovation cycles of AQDB and its infrastructure.

Other new functions in AQDB version 2.2
Many new functions in AQDB 2.2 are a direct result of customer feedback, and now form part of AQDB's standard functions. For example:
E-mail documents: More companies are sending an increasing number of documents to their staff via e-mail. In the past, you could create and send documents as a PDF attachment together with a personalized e-mail. In AQDB 2.2, you can create templates for personalized e-mails. These templates generate a document directly as an e-mail in HTML (or basic text) format, without having to convert it into a PDF. When generating the e-mail, employee-specific, personalized content can be inserted and text module rules evaluated based on employee-specific data such as organizational assignment, classification and employment type.
AQDB 2.2 also has a number of other new functions. These include:
- the ability to group documents into one or more SAP spool requests in mass document processing, using the AQDB Operator Workbench
- new language modules for user interfaces in French and Dutch
- support for SAP ECC 6.0 EHP 3, EHP 4 and now EHP 5
To obtain a quick overview of the new version, log on to one of our free webinars. We will show you how the solution works in a live system, and answer any questions you may have, such as:
- How can I create documents and templates and link them to data in the SAP HR system?
- How can I create document templates using Microsoft Word?
- What output channels are available for documents?
- How can I define reusable text modules and rules?
- How can I implement the solution quickly and effectively?
